I read this a year ago and it's still on my mind. Look no further for insight into how the Republicans continue to win voters.
On Monday night of this week (2.13.06) Lou Dobbs took an unusual detour from his usual insistence of only discussing either Broken Borders or The Out-sourcing Of America.

I saw this on CNN only one time. Video of UK soldiers beating several Iraqi protesters with clubs and kicking them. The cameraman's commentary of the beating is horrible.
I love the show 24. The only season I didn't watch was #3, when Jack started with the heroine addiction. (can't stand seeing that junk on tv). Anyway, last season (more than others) left me ripping the sides of my couch in anger. I wanted people to be tortured and beaten.

I was talking about wire tapping with a friend at work, and he said that if in fact the Bu$h administration really was using it to halt attacks, that it might be a good thing.

Back when John Walker was captured, the first thing I said was that he had obviously been seduced by the cult of the Taliban. I had just finished reading a story by the author of this letter, Steven Hassan (who was a Moonie for several years).
Here's a short piece from TV newsnet5.com site. Published Oct 28, 2001 - but still not talked about enough. Blurb from article: "A fanatical mindset will poison people with cyanide," Martin said.
Yesterday I wrote a long post about using the word "Muslim" to define our attackers. This morning, a simpler thought popped in my head.

I've read that some news sites are working deals with google to have their links redirected to registration pages. I've already tried searching google for newsvine articles - but I didn't expect to find anything until newsvine goes live.

Sorry, I changed the headline from Know thy enemy: 101 because the title stank. ( i hope that's allowed. ) I also made a few edits and tried to shorten it a tad. sorry for the confusion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few months back, a friend told me something and I think he's really right. He said (I'm paraphrasing) that our country probably couldn't handle any more political divisiveness and that, in 2008 we seriously needed a break from both the Bush family and the Clinton family.

If you caught U2's Live Vertigo tour on HDNet this weekend, and were able to see behind Bono endlessly and (sometimes embarrassingly) mugging to the camera, you might have noticed that their light show was really, really cool.
I found many articles dating to mid-2005, each saying that Yahoo Mail Beta would be released "soon" to the public. I signed up the second Leo Laporte mentioned in on TWIT, but I'm still waiting.
I heard about this on TWIT a few weeks ago. An acoustic keylogger. Their program returns 96% accuracy just by listening to you type! ...90% accuracy on nonsense phrases like passwords!! Leo said that the researchers even [stupidly] released their code on the web.
Still hunting for more cool Nixie tube clocks after seeing Woz's wristwatch. And landed on this site that displays your computer's date and time live, if you have Java enabled. Neat to see, but the tube images are probably too small.
Following up with the last seed, here's another watch made with two Nixie tubes. I wish I could post images here... this one's still in production, displays two digits, is water-resistant, round, and $395.00. All I can say is WOW.
During the "Yellow Lazers" TWIT podcast, Woz talked about a tube-based wristwatch that he loved trying to sneak by the airport security. I finally remembered to check the TWIT site for a link... and Oh Brother is that watch cool! Too bad they're all sold out.
I can't find anything on local newspaper or tvnews sites about a local Walmart catching on fire yesterday {Feb. 1, 06}, but something happened.

This is like losing a good friend. I feel slammed after finding out that my favorite store just went bust. Record Exchange was on my weekly visit list. We rented DVDs there all the time... and now I find out that they just pulled the plug.
